Yesterday Adie and I drove about three miles into town to run some errands. We stopped by the post office and mailed out a handful of cards before heading over to the church property. In the past couple weeks the work has really kicked into high gear. And thanks to Randy and his organizational skills, I think that we could be actually meeting in the building sometime by the end of the month or the first of next.
The rafters are completely welded and up. During our visit yesterday we saw that the finishing coat of paint was going on the steel. This is a rust prevention step before the tin is mounted. The local mason was there as well fortifying the steel struction are the walls. This step strengthens the roof as a whole against heavy winds which tend to blow in at the beginning and end of the rainy seasons.
All in all, the project is looking really great and we are excited to be moving in soon!
