Update for December and January
Well, December flew by and now most of January. I was able to get out of Africa for a few weeks in December and visit my older sister and brother-in-law in India. It was a great chance to recharge and to see some family that I haven’t seen in over 18 months. Christmas was probably the most picturesque day of the entire vacation. We sat around, chatted about old times, opened gifts, drank way to much coffee and enjoyed a turkey dinner, which was a delicacy for me since they don’t sell turkey here in Togo.
This coming week I’m heading up to Dapaong again. This will be only the second time without Randy’s company and the first time that I’m directing the ministry. I’m going up to see Pastor Sopa and three village works. I’ll take a white sheet to double as a screen, a generator, and some salvation-based films. Pastor Sopa will preach between the films. It should be a very exciting time. If you think about it please pray with us over it. We did this in a different region of Togo last year, and about 250-300 came each night. With no electricity or running water, and surrounded by mud huts with grass roofs, we should be the only show in town. Pray that God will work in folks’ lives and that people will come to Christ as a direct result of these evenings of evangelism.
From Dapaong I’m heading to Burkina Faso to visit the Shumakers who have been missionaries up there for the past four years. I’m very interested in seeing his ministry and getting some other perspectives on how to effectively plant churches. I’ll be up there about 8 days before returning to Kara.
Thanks for your constant prayers. I appreciate them.
